Kyle Clarke with Robert Half is looking for an experienced and driven Controller to oversee financial operations and ensure the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of accounting processes. This Controller role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in financial management, reporting, and team collaboration. The ideal Controller candidate will have a proven ability to streamline workflows and provide strategic insights to support organizational goals.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards
Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations while managing external audits and coordinating with auditors
Develop and enforce internal controls and accounting policies to maintain financial integrity
Supervise daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely completion and accuracy
Enhance accounting systems and workflows to increase efficiency and scalability
Collaborate with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to guide strategic decision-making
Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance metrics, providing actionable insights
Lead and mentor the accounting team to foster detail-oriented growth and support organizational objectives
Work cross-functionally with departments such as HR, procurement, and operations to ensure alignment with financial goals
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or Controller-level role
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls
Proficiency in financial reporting systems and accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively
Proven experience in leading teams and fostering collaboration across departments
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities effectively
