Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Construction Quality Inspector to support our growing project needs near Idaho Falls, ID. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that construction activities meet all contract requirements, codes, and quality standards. The ideal candidate is an experienced construction quality professional who thrives in field environments, communicates effectively, and works independently while maintaining strong team partnerships.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct oversight of inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards
Evaluate subcontractor workmanship, methods, and material quality
Review plans, specifications, shop drawings, procedures, reports, and project correspondence
Provide oversight of quality‑impacting activities and maintain accurate daily quality reports
Identify deviations, communicate nonconformances, and recommend corrective actions to subcontractors
Collaborate with on‑site engineers and quality representatives to resolve issues
Review materials testing, grades, dimensions, and elevation reports
Approve contractor and subcontractor submittals
Support data collection, documentation, and field/laboratory testing programs
Requirements:
8+ years of construction or industrial experience required
Extensive knowledge of construction techniques, materials, equipment, and engineering documentation
Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and drawings
Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance with quality standards and project requirements
Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with subcontractors and project teams
Proven ability to maintain organized, accurate records
U.S. citizenship is required for this role. (No foreign nationals, OPT or visas of any kind.)
High School Diploma or equivalent required
college education preferred
Previous inspection experience preferred
Ability to walk long distances over rough or uneven terrain
Ability to climb stairs and ladders for inspections
Must be able to work near construction equipment and occasionally hazardous environments
