Job Responsibility

Interpret job specifications, drawings, and client instructions to determine surface conditions and scope of work
Prepare various interior and exterior surfaces by cleaning, sanding, patching, and removing existing coatings
Prepare job sites by setting up ladders, platforms, and protective materials to ensure a clean and safe workspace
Mix and apply paints, stains, and finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment to achieve the required finish
Assess and recommend suitable paint types, colours, and finishes according to client requirements and environmental factors
Use a range of painting techniques to produce smooth and precise finishes on walls, ceilings, trims, and other surfaces
Maintain painting tools and equipment, ensuring proper care, storage, and readiness for use
Collaborate with other team members and supervisors to meet project deadlines and uphold quality standards
Undertake both residential and commercial painting projects across Canberra and surrounding regions
Follow all company, safety, and environmental procedures to ensure safe and compliant work practices

Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree

Ability to apply paint, stain and other finishes to property walls, ceilings, and furniture
Ability to remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning, or using water and/or abrasive blasting

Job Responsibility

Apply paint, stain and other finishes to property walls, ceilings, and furniture using brushes, spray guns, or rollers
Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces for finish coats
Remove old finishes
Cover surfaces with appropriate material for protection during painting and post appropriate paint signs
Clean up and store paint and painting tools and equipment in appropriate areas
Coordinate with vendor in order to modify colors of paint, stain, or varnish
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures
Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
Complete safety training and certifications
Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
