Job Description:

We're hiring a Confirmed Software Engineer to join Cardiac Device Monitoring squad. Someone excited by complex technical challenges AND motivated by making a tangible impact in healthcare. You understand the gravity of working with sensitive patient data and strive for excellence in reliability and performance. Shape the Future of Cardiac Care with Data. Are you passionate about building robust systems that handle critical, high-volume health data? Join our dedicated Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIED) team within a fast-growing healthcare scale-up! We're looking for skilled Software Engineers (Backend-focused or Full-stack with strong backend affinity) who thrive on tackling the challenges of data volume, velocity, variety, and veracity in a mission-critical environment. You won't just be coding; you'll be at the heart of our MedTech mission, developing and scaling the platform that ingests, processes, and monitors data from thousands of life-sustaining cardiac devices. Your work directly contributes to better patient outcomes through reliable remote monitoring. This role requires a strong data-engineering mindset, even within our primarily web-oriented stack, and includes participation in a rotating on-call duty to ensure system availability.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend APIs and data processing pipelines using TypeScript/NestJS to handle large streams of incoming CIED data
  • Build and enhance robust monitoring and alerting systems to ensure data integrity, system reliability, and timely issue detection across our critical infrastructure
  • Implement resilient, high-performance architectures capable of handling significant data loads and ensuring data accuracy, adhering to best practices for critical systems
  • Collaborate closely with clinical domain experts within the CIED team to understand data nuances and requirements
  • Curiosity and AI usage: We actively embrace working with AI productivity tools such as Cursor, Windsurf, or Copilot to solve problems, sharpen code quality, and maximize efficiency. Fully leveraging AI in our daily work is not just encouraged—it’s an essential strength we cultivate
  • Ensure rigorous code quality, security (following OWASP Top 10), and compliance with MedTech industry standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, medical device regulations) through comprehensive testing (unit, integration, end-to-end)
  • Actively participate in the team's on-call rotation to support our production systems

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in software development, ideally in environments handling significant data volumes or critical systems
  • Strong expertise in TypeScript and backend development
  • Solid experience with Node.js and associated frameworks (NestJS preferred)
  • Proven experience designing and interacting with REST APIs
  • Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MariaDB) and/or NoSQL databases (MongoDB)
  • Familiarity with message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka) for asynchronous processing and data pipelines
  • Experience with cloud environments (AWS preferred) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI)
  • Demonstrable experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar)
  • Fluency in both English and French (written and spoken) is essential for team collaboration and documentation

Nice to have:

  • A data-engineering mindset: You naturally consider data flow, volume, performance bottlenecks, data quality, and schema evolution, even when working on application-level code
  • Experience working within a microservices architecture
  • Proven ability to operate and troubleshoot in a high-scale, critical production environment
  • Strong understanding of secure development practices
  • Proficiency with production development workflows (code reviews, Git branching models like Gitflow)
  • Solid understanding and application of testing practices (unit, integration, E2E)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, especially for complex data-related or system-level issues
  • Good documentation skills (technical design, runbooks, etc.)
  • You enjoy working in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Strong work ethic & daily act with integrity, honesty and fairness
  • Definitely a thoughtful team player, looking to make your colleagues successful
What we offer:
  • Health care plan: Alan (50% employer)
  • Luncheon voucher: 9€ (50% employer)
  • Transport: 50% of your pass OR sustainable mobility pass
  • Eligible for stock option (BSPCEs) according to the company's existing rules
  • Regular team events, especially every Thursday evenings
  • Tools: we used Slack, Notion and Drive, and it is pretty cool
  • Worklife balance: we are definitely respectful & remote friendly
  • Shareholder: you will be incentivized with company equity
