We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong Compliance Testing Technician to join our engineering team. In this role, you will support internal and third-party compliance testing activities with a focus on EMC, EMI, and RF performance. You will be responsible for test equipment setup, execution, documentation, and coordination with external labs to ensure our products meet global compliance standards. This role is highly collaborative and requires hands-on lab experience.
Job Responsibility:
Procure, set up, and maintain compliance test equipment including fixtures, power supplies, data acquisition systems, cabling, antennas, and workstations
Prepare and connect Devices Under Test (DUTs) in accordance with EMC, EMI, and RF test plans
Execute, monitor, and document compliance tests in internal lab environments
Support and coordinate testing activities at third-party compliance laboratories
Troubleshoot test setups, equipment, and DUT issues during testing
Perform post-test teardown, inspection, and basic failure analysis
Collect, organize, and summarize test data and observations
Prepare clear test summaries and reports for engineering, quality, and regulatory stakeholders
Maintain organized test documentation and traceability to applicable standards
Collaborate closely with design, reliability, quality, and manufacturing teams to support compliance efforts
Requirements:
2–5 years of experience working in an EMC / EMI / RF compliance test lab environment
Familiarity with EMC, EMI, and RF testing equipment and methodologies
Working knowledge of relevant compliance standards (e.g., CISPR, FCC, IEC, ISO, or equivalent)
Experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting test data using Microsoft Excel
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with high variation in tasks
Demonstrated ability to collaborate across cross-functional engineering teams
Hands-on aptitude with lab instrumentation, fixtures, and test setups
Experience with radiated and conducted emissions testing (RE/CE), immunity testing (ESD, Radiated Immunity, EFT, surge, Conducted Immunity), and Flicker/Harmonics
Familiarity with pre-compliance testing and debug techniques
Understanding of grounding, bonding, filtering, shielding, and cable management best practices
Experience using spectrum analyzers, EMI receivers, LISNs, current probes, near-field probes, and GTEM or semi-anechoic chambers
Ability to identify common EMC failure modes and suggest mitigation strategies (ferrites, filtering, shielding, grounding & harness changes)
