Commissioning Home Manager | Specialist Complex Care Home. Are you an experienced leader from a specialist care background looking to commission and lead a flagship service? We are working with a well-established, growing specialist care provider seeking an exceptional Commissioning Home Manager to lead the reopening and commissioning of a newly redeveloped 80–85 bed specialist complex care home in South West London. The service will support adults with mental health needs, addictions, neurological conditions, physical disabilities, and complex rehabilitation requirements, delivered within a modern, purpose-designed environment. This is a rare opportunity to shape a flagship service from pre-opening through to full occupancy, embedding best practice, strong governance, and a positive, values-led culture from day one.
Job Responsibility:
Commission and operationally lead an 80–85 bed specialist complex care home
Lead the service from build handover through registration, opening, and stabilisation
Recruit, mentor, and develop a large multidisciplinary team
Embed strong governance, compliance, and quality frameworks from the outset
Build sustainable referral pathways with commissioners, ICBs, and local authorities
Drive occupancy, financial performance, and long-term sustainability
Create a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Home Manager or senior leader within specialist care homes or large rehabilitation centres
Experience managing large services (40+ beds essential)
Background in complex care, mental health, neuro, physical disability, or rehabilitation services
Strong understanding of CQC standards and regulatory requirements
Calm, values-led leader with strong commercial and people-management skills
Nice to have:
Commissioning experience not essential - full support provided
NMC registration not required, though strong clinical awareness is important
