The Commis I is responsible for supporting the kitchen team by preparing ingredients, cooking assigned dishes, and maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety. This role requires strong basic culinary skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and cook food items according to recipes, quality standards, and menu specifications
Assist in mise‑en‑place preparation for daily operations
Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and available for service
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work station at all times
Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines (HACCP standards)
Support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations and special events
Identify and report any out‑of‑stock items or potential shortages
Return unused food items to their designated storage areas and ensure proper covering and labeling of perishables
Requirements:
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a luxury hotel or resort
Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards, with proven compliance in previous roles
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure kitchen environment
Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude
Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
