Job Description:

Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, and food preparation checklist. Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen tools and areas. Collaborate with the team to maintain standards and achieve shared goals at The St. Regis Changsha.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare ingredients for cooking
Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables
Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients
Prepare and cook food according to standards
Operate kitchen equipment
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas
Follow safety and security policies
Develop and maintain positive relationships with team members
Ensure adherence to quality standards.

Requirements:

Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food
Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables
Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients
Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation standards
Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers
Test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently
Monitor food quality while preparing food
Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas and equipment
Follow all company safety and security policies
Complete safety training and certifications
Ensure uniform and appearance are clean and professional
Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others
Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
Move, lift, carry, push, pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.

Nice to have:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
At least 1 year of related work experience.
