Job Responsibility

Set and run CNC Turning Lathes
Machine high-precision components to tight deadlines
Carry out in-process checks using micrometers, digital callipers, shadow graph and laser micrometer
Read and interpret complex engineering drawings
Machine parts to tolerances as tight as 0.010mm / 10 microns
Operate multiple machines simultaneously
Maintain accurate machining records and TPM documentation
Follow manufacturing procedures, quality standards and H&S guidelines
Protect confidentiality of customer information
Consistently deliver high-quality, accurate work

Requirements

Background in aerospace engineering (minimum 2 years)
Experience setting and running 1st and 2nd op machining tools, with some programming capability
Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Experience with Fanuc and Seiki controls
Comfortable with bar feed machines
Strong measurement and inspection skills

Job Responsibility

Setting and running CNC machinery, including fixed-head, sliding-head, lathes, turning mills and bar feeders (Doosan, Hardinge, Mori, Star)
Supporting 2nd operation machining when needed — thread rolling, grinding, drilling, deburring, torque testing and more
Programming, setting and coordinating machining activities in collaboration with existing setters
Conducting first-off inspections and job-run checks
Working confidently with aluminium, stainless steel and Inconel
Reducing scrap, improving productivity, and supporting a zero-defect philosophy

Ability to deburr, cut, polish, blend, and smooth the surfaces of machined parts using a variety of hand tools
Basic knowledge of properties of mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum applicable to part fabrication

Job Responsibility

Adhere to General Work Requirements
Verify quantity and material type are correct and all prior inspection points have been stamped
Verify all engineering and shop documents have been obtained to perform the necessary work order
Assist with planning machining procedures and set-up machine and part(s)
Set-up and/or verify cutting tools per machine requirements
Perform a variety of machining operations (boring, drilling, milling, tapping, threading) on raw material to produce machined part(s) to tolerances and dimensions
Monitor feeds, spindle speeds, and tool wear during machining process and make adjustments as required
Finish machined part(s) using various hand tools
Verify part is within specified tolerances and dimensions and make further adjustments as required
Maintain existing documents, shop aid tools, and blueprints for applicable machines and equipment
