Job Description:

At Dexory, autonomous robots are a critical part of our product offering. We design and build our robots in house and are building new purpose built spaces for assembly, testing and product demos. We are on the lookout for a CNC Machinist where you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating our machines to produce precision parts according to specifications. This role needs a strong understanding of machining techniques, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and a commitment to delivering top-quality products.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support the CNC Production Technical lead
  • Safely and efficiently operate CNC machines and equipment to produce components as per engineering drawings
  • Work with engineering on new designs and give input for design for manufacture
  • To be a resource for off-line programming
  • Scheduling of own work
  • Choose appropriate cutting tools, tool holders, and fixtures for each job
  • Provide inspection resource for both first article and interim checks
  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines and report any issues to the maintenance department
  • Troubleshooting and resolving problems during the machining process
  • Follow general organisational procedures, such as 5S
  • Ensure all safety guidelines and protocols maintain a safe working environment
  • Keep on top of documentation of machine setup, tooling, and production data
  • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to achieve production goals and resolve technical issues

Requirements:

  • Experience with CNC milling and turning and CNC programming
  • Knowledge of G-code and CAM software (we use Fusion 360, prior experience not essential)
  • Knowledge of Solidworks would be advantageous but not essential
  • Experience with quality control
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Good understanding of engineering drawings
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
