Responsibilities include serving food and beverages to guests, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a high standard of guest service. Team members practice Marriott’s Gold Standards and adhere to the highest safety and service expectations. The role emphasizes multitasking, teamwork, and communication, along with familiarity in the use of POS systems and food service best practices.
Job Responsibility:
Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests
Set tables according to type of event and service standards
Answer questions on menu selections
Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, and product availability
Diligently communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen
Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages
Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc., throughout the day
Complete closing duties, including restocking items etc.
Present physical and accurate check to guest and process payment
Keep an updated inventory of items weekly, stock, and label and check expiry items daily
Ensure buffet food is presented neatly, food items properly labeled and cleanliness to be maintained at all times
Clean and sanitize restaurant tables, doors, machinery
Stock and prepare food and beverage items according to the occupancy
Wash dishes and serving utensils as needed
Set up, stock, and maintain work areas
Inspect the cleanliness and presentation of all china, glass, and silver prior to use
Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
Requirements:
2-3 years previous food and beverage serving experience required
Basic Knowledge of wine and mixed drinks
Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency of all applicable food & beverage laws and regulations
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must be team-oriented
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast pace environment
Excellent guest service skills and communication skills (English required)
Must be able to work flexible working hours, weekends and holidays
Hospitality Graduate or Certified Service Professional is an advantage
Experience with working with POS system (Oracle Hospitality Simphony desirable)
Must able to carry up to 50lbs.
