Job Description:

As Cloud Design Engineer you will be part of a global E2E unit in Cloud Engineering organization that aims to achieve the cloud ready & cloud native strategy for Vodafone, as an enabler for the network as a platform, and thus drive cost efficiencies and innovation. You will be in charge to design and support the delivery the Telco Cloud virtualized infrastructure in Italy and cluster markets in accordance with the Vodafone Cloud Engineering strategy and goals to enable the onboarding of the core network’s tools with best in industry quality within the planned time. You will be accountable and responsible for the design to deployment of infrastructure Virtualization Network for Cloud ready platform overall mainly focused on VMWare NFV & SDN solutions and Red Hat Open Shift solution considering capacity efficiency, security, resiliency and automation, aligned with the peculiarities of NFV workloads. You also will support the Infrastructure build of Network functions into on premise cloud environment. The Technology focus is on IaaS, CaaS, PaaS infrastructure (vCloud, vCenter, hypervisor, computing, storage, Network - physical or virtual), remote access solutions, cloud, security, and backup solutions. You also will work with the VNF/CNF On Boarding team to automated E2E integrations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible for the solution design and lifecycle management of designed solutions within Cluster IT, GR, AL Vodafone Markets
  • Coordinating suppliers, engage with peers and other stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of functionality and quality in projects
  • Design and Delivery NVI on time and on budget according to the project’s timeline
  • Support process development and automation of VNF /CNF delivery
  • Define, address, track and report on standard and guideline adherence
  • Translate technical requirements into business language

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified
  • At least 4 years professional experience in cloud and virtualization
  • Expert in data centre infrastructure, cloud computing and virtualization architectures (IT and Telco) design and delivery
  • Solid understanding of virtualization (VMWare/ Openshift Cloud Platform) and containerization (Kubernetes)
  • Solid understanding of routing and switching protocols (ie. BGP / ISIS / OSPF)
  • Experience with kubernetes networking (CNIs, Service Mesh, Network Policies, Ingress/Egress)
  • Experience with Network Load Balancers and Firewalls
  • Experience in designing/implementing IPv6 solutions

Nice to have:

Scripting expertise is preferred (Power CLI, Powershell, Python, …)
