Job Description:

The Cloud Engineer will design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure to support the organization’s business applications and technology needs. This role focuses on cloud architecture, automation, system reliability, and performance optimization across platforms such as Azure and AWS. The ideal candidate has strong experience with Infrastructure‑as‑Code, virtualization, networking, and cloud-native services.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design, implement, and manage cloud-based infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or GCP depending on org)
  • Build and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions
  • Develop Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, ARM/Bicep, or CloudFormation
  • Implement automation for provisioning, configuration, deployments, and patching
  • Configure and administer virtual machines, containers, storage accounts, databases, and networking resources
  • Manage identity, access control, and cloud security policies
  • Support hybrid environments including VPNs, ExpressRoute, or similar connectivity methods
  • Deploy and maintain monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Grafana, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues, identify root causes, and implement long-term fixes
  • Optimize cost, performance, scalability, and disaster recovery designs
  • Implement cloud security best practices including encryption, key management, RBAC, and MFA
  • Maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
  • Participate in vulnerability management and cloud-related incident response
  • Partner with development and DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines and cloud workloads
  • Provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams on cloud capabilities
  • Document system architecture, runbooks, and operational procedures

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 3–5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or systems engineering
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud services
  • Strong understanding of virtualization, networking, firewalls, load balancers, and DNS
  • Experience with IaC (Terraform, ARM/Bicep, CloudFormation)
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and security tools

Nice to have:

  • Azure Administrator, AWS Solutions Architect, or similar certification
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/AKS)
  • Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
  • Knowledge of DevOps principles and automation frameworks
  • Experience with configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
