Job Description:

We’re seeking an experienced Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud engineer with expertise in the strategy, design, development, and implementation of large-scale projects in the cloud. This position involves cloud architecture, application design, troubleshooting, and guiding teams to implement innovative cloud solutions for the company. The role requires a strong background in AWS cloud services, DevOps, scripting, and architectural principles.

Job Responsibility:

Work in tandem with our engineering team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the company
Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance
Provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to development teams to build cloud competencies
Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful design
Managing cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines
Develop and implement technical efforts to design, build, and deploy AWS applications following the direction of lead architects, including large-scale data processing, computationally intensive statistical modeling, and advanced analytics
Troubleshoot incidents, identify root cause, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures
Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required
Employ exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity
Plan, Configure, Deploy and Operate a cloud solution
Configure access and security
Ensure Performance standards by configuring Auto-Scaling Solution to meet varying Load requirements
Automating the build and configuration of IaaS based solutions in Google Cloud Platform
Deliver Proof of Concepts for new Solutions on Cloud
Good written/Oral Communication, Presentation, Interactive skills with team across geography
Works well under pressure and meets deadline
Flexible to work either independently or with team
Architecting/operating innovative solutions built on AWS
Design and Implement AWS architectures and environments
Play a key role in migrating and transforming legacy solutions to the cloud
Design Native Cloud Application Architectures and optimize applications for AWS.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or mathematics
Relevant experience architecting, designing, migrating, and implementing cloud solutions on AWS platforms
Understanding of and experience with the five pillars of a well-architected framework
Experience in several of the following areas: database architecture, ETL, business intelligence, big data, machine learning, advanced analytics
Proven ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams of business analysts, developers, data scientists, and subject matter experts
'Hands-on' AWS implementation experience across a broad range of AWS services
Must have in depth AWS development experience (Containerization - Docker, Amazon EKS, Lambda, EC2, S3, Amazon DocumentDB, PostgreSQL)
Strong knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD pipeline (GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory)
Scripting capability and the ability to develop AWS environments as code
Hands-on AWS experience with at least 3 implementations (preferred in an Enterprise scale environment)
Experience with core AWS platform architecture, including areas such as: Organizations, Account Design, VPC, Subnet, segmentation strategies
Backup and Disaster Recovery approach and design
Environment and application automation
CloudFormation and third-party automation approach/strategy
Network connectivity, Direct Connect and VPN
AWS Cost Management and Optimization
Experienced in developing Web Services with Python, JSON
Skilled experience in Python libraries (NumPy, Pandas dataframe)
Public cloud automaton tooling and scripting experience – CFn, Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Jenkins
Familiar with Encryption, Logging, and Privacy/Security Protocols (e.g. TLS 1.2, ELK stack)
Good knowledge of REST/SOAP/JSON web service API implementation
Experienced in developing test plan, test cases, baselines, and conducting end-to-end testing.
