Job Description:

Legal Services of North Florida has an opening for a full-time (35 hours/week) Intake Specialist to support the firm's client intake in our Tallahassee office. Come work with great people who do hard work to better the lives of low-income and vulnerable individuals in our communities. Work for a non-profit law firm, with 140+ employees in eight offices across North Florida, that seeks legal justice while understanding the value of work-life balance. Work independently and as part of a team to obtain positive results in civil legal matters for vulnerable members of our community.

Job Responsibility:

  • First point of contact for individuals seeking help
  • Connect people with the legal support they need
  • Engage directly with potential clients to collect initial information about their legal problems, income, and personal circumstances
  • Active listening and clear documentation
  • Lay the groundwork for attorneys to assess and respond to each client’s situation

Requirements:

  • Skilled typist
  • Strong grammar and writing skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to listen carefully and ask clear, thoughtful follow-up questions
  • Comfortable working with individuals in high-stress or emotional situations
  • Able to collaborate effectively with others in both local and remote team settings
  • High-level of comfort with the Microsoft Office Suite and use of technology
  • Must complete a Legal Services of North Florida online employment application and submit a resume

Nice to have:

  • Fluent in a second language
  • Experience working with victims or individuals who are experiencing trauma
