Job Description:

We are seeking expressions of interest to join our dynamic and inclusive business enterprise to provide opportunities for people with disabilities to be employed alongside other skilled team members. General Hands will work alongside team leaders to assist supported employees to carry out cleaning and general maintenance to maintain a wide variety of sites for our commercial clients, contributing to enhancing the lives of people with a disability and achieving agreed operational and financial goals.

Job Responsibility:

General cleaning, vacuuming, bathrooms/toilets, mopping, dusting, laundry, washing walls/windows
Light domestic duties
The General Hand is well supported by the team leader to build positive team relationships that reflect the Aruma core values
Supported employees are assisted to develop new skills and achieve employment goals
Tasks are completed consistent with instructions from team leaders and supervisors, as well as contract specifications and scheduling requirements

Requirements:

A high level of physical fitness to meet the manual handling and environmental requirements of the position
Ability to work independently and/or collaboratively as a team member
Sound verbal and written communication and ability to assess when to escalate issues
Ability to use technical skills to solve maintenance and site issues
White card, basic understanding of WHS requirements
Hold a valid driver's licence
Be willing to undergo a Police Check
Hold a current NDIS Check and Working with Children's Check or be willing to obtain

Nice to have:

Experience with working with people with disabilities, particularly in a service provision context
Cert III in Cleaning Operations or equivalent knowledge and exp in commercial cleaning
