This role plays a critical part in supporting civil engineering design and construction management activities across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects. Job Responsibility:
Develop, design, and support sanitary and storm sewer systems, watermains, lot grading, and storm drainage designs
Assist with construction management activities, including site inspections, quality control, and compliance monitoring
Prepare construction estimates, schematics, and detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and related CAD platforms
Conduct construction inspections to verify conformance with drawings, specifications, and applicable standards
Collect and document field data related to land surveying, water treatment systems, wastewater treatment facilities, and infrastructure components
Support research and development initiatives through data analysis, testing, and preparation of technical documentation and reports
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on civil infrastructure, land development, and environmental engineering projects
Assist in the preparation of detailed schematics for mechanical and water/wastewater systems using Revit or AutoCAD
Participate in project planning discussions related to scheduling, resourcing, and scope coordination
Requirements:
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
Knowledge of road right-of-way design
Proficiency with AutoCAD
Solid understanding of civil engineering fundamentals, including land surveying, construction inspection, and water and wastewater systems
Experience with construction estimating techniques and project scheduling tools
Strong technical writing skills with the ability to prepare reports, manuals, and project documentation
Ability to accurately perform field data collection in varied environmental conditions
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines
Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle are considered assets
Nice to have:
Experience with Civil 3D, Revit, and MicroStation is considered an asset
