Klingner & Associates, P.C. is seeking a Civil Engineering Assistant to help support our Site Development Department. Make a positive impact as a Klingner Civil Engineering Assistant. Job Responsibility:
Assist in developing and reviewing designs, plans, specifications, permitting, and final construction documents
Identify and address potential project risks and independently produce mitigation strategies
Follow industry design trends, technological advancements, professional organizations, and new certifications
Assist with performing and / or coordinating thorough inspections and assessments, as needed, with an emphasis on safety and timeliness
Follow Klingner standards and quality control procedures to ensure project safety, reliability, and longevity
Work independently and with guidance (as well as with other project managers, engineers, technicians, and contractors) to complete projects
Assist in organizing, prioritizing and performing work assignments with supervision
Clearly document all project phases and client communication
Assist with construction oversight and administration, as needed
Travel occasionally to support project-related inspections, meetings, etc.
Requirements:
4+ years of demonstrated experience in municipal or site development engineering
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or closely-related engineering field from an accredited university
Must hold at least an EIT and be on track to pursue a Professional Engineer license
Must have excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil3D, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
Excellent time management skills, organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple complex projects and tasks concurrently, along with a commitment to meeting deadlines and keeping projects within budget
Clear written and verbal communication
Experience in writing or assisting in preparing reports and studies, scopes of work, and proposals
Should have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to hold strong business relationships with clients
Ability to conduct all projects by quality standards and Klingner procedures, with a strong focus of on accuracy and quality of work
A drive to create high-quality designs, strong sense of commitment, willingness to learn, and desire to work in a team environment
Nice to have:
Master of Science degree
An understanding of WaterCAD, WaterGEMS, and Revit
Understanding of and experience in applying regulatory agency laws, ordinances, and regulations for Municipal, County, State, and Federal agency permitting submittals
Understanding of and experience with various water / wastewater system funding agencies
