Job Description:

The Paraguay Citi Country Officer (CCO) & Banking Head is an integrated senior management-level position, responsible for leading the franchise, managing regulatory relationships, risk, and driving Citi’s strategy in the Paraguayan market

Job Responsibility:

overseeing all Citi businesses and operations in the country
driving the overall franchise’s strategic and financial performance
fostering key client and regulatory relationships
managing the organization and corporate governance of country-based legal entities
acting as the lead Citi representative in the country
promoting a culture of timely escalation, ethics, compliance, and control
leading a franchise-wide client engagement across all local businesses
maintaining strong relationship management with clients, government officials, and regulators
driving collective focus on improving the risk and control environment
monitoring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
leading the response to franchise-wide events
executing Citi’s Talent agenda
maximizing overall banking segment profit and loss
managing the development and execution of Citi’s overall strategy
ensuring alignment with Citi’s core strategy to originate revenue
leading the sustainability agenda and digital transformation
building strong teams and recruiting diverse bankers

Requirements:

15+ years relevant experience in the financial services industry
proven leadership skills and strategic thinking
in-depth experience and understanding of banking products
senior credit officer (SCO) preferred
demonstrated understanding of compliance issues and regulatory requirements
previous experience of managing a P&L and overseeing risk, controls and governance
experience in managing medium/large teams across a matrix organization
demonstrated intellectual grasp and understanding of the industry
relationship management with internal and external stakeholders
ability to drive and foster simplification
understanding and translating global/regional strategy
demonstrated clear and concise written and verbal communication

Nice to have:

master’s degree
senior credit officer (SCO) credential
