Job Description:

Our client, a large professional services firm, is looking to hire a Cisco Network Engineer with expert level switch experience. The consultant will be working on a 2-site installation in both Ashburn, VA and El Segundo, CA. The consultant will migrate from existing Brocade Series 7 switches to new Cisco MDS 9718 switches at both sites. The Ashburn site will utilize existing fiber and El Segundo will require new fiber runs (customer’s responsibility). The consultant will modify existing management scripts to reflect Cisco CLI from Brocade and setup management GUI. The consultant will also train the customer on the new management GUI and assist with ongoing administration. The resource would need to be onsite for physical install/migration work at both sites but can do all other activities remotely.

Job Responsibility:

  • Migrate from existing Brocade Series 7 switches to new Cisco MDS 9718 switches at both sites
  • Modify existing management scripts to reflect Cisco CLI from Brocade and setup management GUI
  • Train the customer on the new management GUI and assist with ongoing administration

Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Cisco network engineer working heavily with Cisco switches
  • Strong skills with Cisco switching
  • Experience with multi-site installations
  • Experience migrating from existing Brocade Series 7 switches to new Cisco MDS 9718 switches
  • Experience modifying existing management scripts to reflect Cisco CLI from Brocade
  • Ability to set up management GUI
  • Experience training a customer on new management GUI
