Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced Coal Handling Preparation Plant (CHPP) Operator Maintainer at our Wilpinjong mine. Our Wilpinjong Mine is an open-cut mine located 58 kilometres northeast of Mudgee producing a high quality thermal coal for export and domestic markets. We have a mine life currently in the 2030s and are exploring options and designs to expand that for another decade. Reporting to the CHPP Shift Supervisor, the scope of your role will be to operate all areas of the Coal Preparation plant in line with production schedules whilst working within a small crew. The majority of trade work is completed by external contractors on planned regular shutdowns, so this is more of a processing and first pass maintaining / trade role with good variety.

Job Responsibility:

  • Operate and monitor preparation plant to optimize production and quality as directed by the CHPP Production Supervisor
  • Identify, report and act on all hazards whilst complying with the Health, Safety and Environment Management System
  • Perform train loading operations in line with train schedules and blend parameters
  • Perform CHPP roving duties to monitor CHPP performance and make adjustments as required
  • Perform first response breakdown maintenance tasks as required
  • Conduct P.M. inspections
  • Operate stockpile dozers to manage the product coal stockpile
  • Operate stockpile dozers for reclaim operations and train loading
  • Maintain CHPP equipment as requested during scheduled maintenance periods
  • Maintain cleanliness of all areas of the CHPP and Train Loadout

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years operations/maintenance experience in a CHPP
  • Have demonstrated a positive work ethic
