Job Responsibility:
Offering compassionate support to children with diverse needs, including emotional and behavioural challenges, autism, and learning disabilities
Helping children develop essential life skills and boost their overall well-being
Putting care plans and behaviour management strategies into action, tailored just for them
Creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for everyone
Keeping accurate records of progress, incidents, and observations
Working hand-in-hand with colleagues, families, and external agencies to ensure the best holistic care
Responding to challenging behaviours with patience, professionalism, and understanding
Upholding the highest standards of care and championing all safeguarding policies and procedures
Requirements:
Valid full driving licence and a reliable vehicle
Essential experience working in Residential Children's Homes and supporting children who have experienced childhood trauma
Flexibility to travel up to an hour to Gateshead, Sunderland, Newcastle, or Durham, and availability for both day and night shifts
Commitment to working at least 3 shifts per week
Proof of Right to Work in the UK
Up-to-date mandatory training certificates, PMVA training, and an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service
Ability to provide employment references covering the last 3 years
Minimum 1 year experience in the UK as a support worker
Childcare experience, patience, and empathy
Professional knowledge of child protection and behaviour management
Nice to have:
A relevant childcare qualification or equivalent experience
What we offer:
Competitive pay: £15.35 per hour for Day shifts (08:00 - 20:00) and £16.88 per hour for Waking Nights (20:00 - 08:00)
A flat rate of £57.02 for Sleep-in shifts
