Children's Support Worker

• Offering compassionate support to children with diverse needs, including emotional and behavioural challenges, autism, and learning disabilities
• Helping children develop essential life skills and boost their overall well-being
• Putting care plans and behaviour management strategies into action, tailored just for them
• Creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for everyone
• Keeping accurate records of progress, incidents, and observations
• Working hand-in-hand with colleagues, families, and external agencies to ensure the best holistic care
• Responding to challenging behaviours with patience, professionalism, and understanding
• Upholding the highest standards of care and championing all safeguarding policies and procedures

• Valid full driving licence and a reliable vehicle
• Essential experience working in Residential Children's Homes and supporting children who have experienced childhood trauma
• Flexibility to travel up to an hour to Gateshead, Sunderland, Newcastle, or Durham, and availability for both day and night shifts
• Commitment to working at least 3 shifts per week
• Proof of Right to Work in the UK
• Up-to-date mandatory training certificates, PMVA training, and an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service
• Ability to provide employment references covering the last 3 years
• Minimum 1 year experience in the UK as a support worker
• Childcare experience, patience, and empathy
• Professional knowledge of child protection and behaviour management

A relevant childcare qualification or equivalent experience

• Competitive pay: £15.35 per hour for Day shifts (08:00 - 20:00) and £16.88 per hour for Waking Nights (20:00 - 08:00)
