Job Description:

Join our dedicated team as a Children's Support Worker, playing a vital role within our network of residential homes in the North East. We are committed to providing a nurturing environment for children facing various challenges.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide compassionate and effective support to children with diverse needs, including emotional and behavioural challenges, autism, and learning disabilities
  • Assist children in developing essential life skills and promoting their overall well-being
  • Implement care plans and behaviour management strategies tailored to individual needs
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for all residents
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of incidents, observations, and progress
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues, families, and external agencies to ensure holistic care
  • Respond effectively to challenging behaviours with patience and professionalism
  • Uphold the highest standards of care and adhere to all safeguarding policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • A valid full driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle for travel within the North East
  • Essential prior experience working within Residential Children's Homes and supporting children with childhood trauma
  • Flexibility to travel up to 1 hour to Gateshead, Sunderland, Newcastle, or Durham, and availability for both day and night shifts
  • A commitment to working a minimum of 3 shifts per week
  • Proof of valid Right to Work in the UK
  • Up-to-date mandatory training certificates, PMVA training, and an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • The ability to provide employment references covering the last 3 years
  • Minimum 6 months of UK experience in residential care home setting working with children
