Worked in a Chief Engineer capacity previously
Hold a UK CoC / UK FSE (or non-UK candidates willing to apply for UK equivalent)
Hold a UK/Irish passport or valid Frontier Work Permit (due to vessel working within 12 nautical mile zone)

Job Responsibility

Responsible for the technical status of the ship, its machinery and propulsion systems
Ensuring all equipment onboard is operational
Ensuring vessel complies with relevant rules and regulations from flag authorities, Classification Society, I.M.O., Port Authorities, and owners’ management
Carrying out safe, efficient and economic operation and maintenance of all machinery, systems, specialist equipment, and vessel fabric
Ensuring an effective and efficient watch is maintained in the engine room at all times
Reporting defects via company approved planned maintenance system
Promptly updating status and content of defects within company system
Requisitioning stores, spares and equipment for the Engine Department
Delegating tasks to Engine Room staff
Actively promoting and progressing company Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Policy
