Job Description:

Locum tenens CAA position is a temporary assignment, often lasting weeks or months, to address staffing shortages in hospitals, surgical centers or other healthcare facilities. These positions offer competitive pay and flexible schedules, allowing CAAs to pursue diverse work environments and control their workload.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform thorough pre-anesthesia assessments, including reviewing patient history, conducting physical exams and discussing anesthesia plans with patients
  • Administer anesthesia under the supervision of a licensed anesthesiologist, including general, regional and monitored anesthesia care
  • Provide continuous patient monitoring and anesthesia adjustments during procedures
  • Provide post-anesthesia care, including managing any complications related to anesthesia
  • Ensure continuity of care by collaborating with other healthcare professionals
  • Provide immediate response for anesthesia-related emergencies
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records

Requirements:

  • Master's-level degree in an anesthesiologist assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
  • Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA)
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in District of Columbia
  • At least one year of experience providing care in a clinical setting
