Percivon is seeking a skilled CATIA Designer/Developer to join our industrial automation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for both designing and developing innovative automation solutions using CATIA software, ensuring that our projects meet high standards of quality and efficiency.
Job Responsibility:
Create and develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CATIA for industrial automation systems and components
Create detailed drawings for complex and simple parts, sub-assemblies, and top-level assemblies
Write engineering orders and update existing drawings as necessary
Develop assemblies and drawings for testing procedures
Employ Catia FTA workbench and Model Based Definition (MBD) techniques within the aerospace engineering context
Conduct weight calculations and perform design checks on models and drawings produced by other drafters
Apply GD&T practices in accordance with ANSI standards
Demonstrate knowledge of manufacturing processes for machining metallic components and sheet metal forming
Execute tolerance stack-ups and interference checks as required
Collaborate with engineering teams to translate project requirements into design specifications
Assist in prototyping designs and participate in testing and validation to ensure systems function as intended
Troubleshoot and refine designs based on testing feedback and operational needs
Maintain thorough documentation of design processes, specifications, and revisions
Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices throughout the design lifecycle
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering and project management, to align on project goals and timelines
Provide technical support during the implementation of designs and facilitate knowledge transfer
Stay updated on the latest advancements in CATIA and industrial automation technologies
Identify opportunities for process improvements and propose innovative design solutions
Requirements:
Minimum 3 to 10 years experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field
Proven experience in design and development using CATIA within an industrial automation context
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Nice to have:
Experience with additional CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
Familiarity with automation technologies and systems (e.g., robotics, conveyor systems)
Certification in CATIA or related design software
Preferred experience with PLM software (such as Enovia) and configuration management practices
