Job Description:

We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Food Service Assistant to support the day-to-day food and service delivery across the school. This role is essential in ensuring pupils, staff, and visitors receive high-quality, nutritious meals served with care, efficiency, and attention to detail.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support the preparation, service, and presentation of food to a high standard
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen and service areas
  • Assist with food labelling, temperature checks, and allergen controls
  • Provide excellent customer service to pupils, staff, and visitors
  • Set up and clear service areas, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations
  • Follow all food safety, health & safety, and safeguarding procedures
  • Contribute to hospitality events and occasional out-of-hours functions

Requirements:

  • Ideally have experience working within contract, or high-volume catering
  • Possess a good Health & Safety knowledge
  • Flexible with a can-do attitude, customer-focused
  • Fun and enthusiastic
  • Have excellent organisation skills
  • Demonstrate great attention to detail

  • Oversee all scheduling and weekly payroll within the department while maintaining the payroll budget

  • Must be able to create and maintain a clean and organized back of house kitchen operation
  • Responsible for upholding Health Department standards as well as have a working knowledge of the Zero Waste program
  • Oversee and supervise the Kitchen to include all Sous Chefs, Stewards, Prep Cooks, Line Cooks as well as any contributions to food service produced by the stewarding team
