We’re looking for a confident, commercially minded Category Manager to join our Commercial team at PROPER SNACKS. You’ll play a key role in helping us navigate the ever-changing world of snacking. You’ll spot what shoppers want, where the growth opportunities are, and how we stay culturally relevant and commercially sharp. This is a role for someone who’s comfortable owning insight, confidently influencing stakeholders, and turning data into clear, compelling stories that drive action. You’ll translate category, shopper and market insight into clear commercial opportunities that help Proper grow with our retail partners.
Job Responsibility:
Lead category reviews and deliver high-quality, commercially focused insight stories for key customers
Identify growth opportunities across retailers, channels and formats using shopper, category and market data
Bring insight into customer meetings with clear, confident and actionable recommendations
Partner with Marketing and Innovation to ground brand and NPD thinking in robust category understanding
Monitor category performance, trends, competitors and shifts in shopper behaviour, proactively sharing implications and opportunities
Support range, distribution, pricing and promotional thinking with strong analytical rigour
Be a trusted category voice internally, influencing decisions across the commercial agenda
Requirements:
4+ years’ experience in a Category Management, Shopper Insight or Commercial Insight role, ideally within FMCG
Experience working in fast-moving or high-growth categories, with an understanding of how pace and change impact decision-making
Proven ability to use category, shopper and market data to influence commercial decisions
Strong storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear, compelling recommendations
Confidence presenting to and influencing a range of stakeholders across Sales and Marketing
Experience supporting range, distribution, pricing and promotional decisions
Comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial, scaling business environment
