Job Description:

The Carpenter position at Sheraton Nouakchott Hotel involves handling guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing tools, kitchen equipment, plumbing, electrical components, and other systems. The role requires basic knowledge of air conditioning, refrigeration, carpentry, and similar technical skills. Collaboration and adherence to safety policies are key.

Job Responsibility:

Respond and attend to guest repair requests
communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues
perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment
visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies
perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair
perform basic repairs on equipment, plumbing, electrical components, and other guestroom items
test and troubleshoot various systems
perform landscaping repair
develop and maintain positive working relationships with others
move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than 50 pounds without assistance

Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent
some experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting
experience in hotel engineering or maintenance a plus
driver’s license

Nice to have:

experience in hotel engineering or maintenance
