Hang Seng's Investments and Wealth Solutions offers a full spectrum of wealth products and services. We play a distributor role to source investment and insurance products from service providers, manage the product due diligence and onboarding, as well as client journey design and implementation. We are seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Business Risk and Control Manager.
Job Responsibility:
Participate in business development, new products, platform projects as a business risk and control subject matter expert and provide advice to business on overall business risk aspects
Acts as a trusted partner to Business in order to ensure the business remains within risk appetite, including pre-empting emerging risks and analyzing lessons learnt from past incidents
Acts as a focal point of contact for our Investments and Wealth Solutions business teams and risk stewards on all risk related topics
Establish and maintain effective risk management and controls within Investments and Wealth Solutions business by assessing operational risks and performing reviews of control procedures and monitoring programs, working with other departments on their operational risk management, ensuring adequate controls are in place in the First Line of Defense
Coordinate with relevant business teams to ensure the proper and timely recording and reporting of management self-identified issues and the corresponding management action plans
Propose and implement continuous control monitoring, and arrange the regular and ad-hoc reviews in response to the review findings, business initiatives and the update of Group policies and requirements
Act as the secretary of business risk governance meetings and ensure timely and comprehensive update of the risk reporting to senior management in the risk forum
Act as Business Information Risk Officer (BIRO) and coordinate with business teams and risk stewards to drive the regular and ad-hoc projects to comply with Group policies accordingly
Promote operational risk awareness, including briefing and training to staff, sharing of internal/external incidents, etc.
Requirements:
University degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline
Around 5 years’ relevant experience in banking, with exposure to risk control and relevant qualification
Sound knowledge of retail banking, investment markets, products and regulations, operational risk management, financial crime compliance or other related areas
Strong business sense, self-motivated with good communication, logical and positive thinking, interpersonal and analytical skills
Strong business acumen with good problem solving, communication and analytical skills
Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective deliverables
