Groupon is a marketplace where customers discover new experiences and services everyday and local businesses thrive. We’re looking for ambitious, energetic Business Development Representatives to join our growing Sales team in downtown, River North, Chicago. You’ll be on the front line, connecting with local businesses, helping them attract new customers, and shaping the future of their success on Groupon.

Job Responsibility:

  • Find and connect with exciting local businesses that could shine on Groupon
  • Engage and pitch — you’ll make outbound calls, introduce our platform, and get business owners curious
  • Present value through tailored solutions that match a merchant’s goals
  • Own your targets — hit your numbers, then smash them
  • Build relationships that last — listen, advise, and become their trusted partner
  • Work cross-functionally to help get campaigns live and successful

Requirements:

  • Confident communicator with strong listening and negotiation skills
  • Outgoing personality
  • Able to work in-office 3 days/week in downtown Chicago (4 days during onboarding)
  • Comfortable with technology - we are using sales tools and CRMs (Salesforce experience is a plus)
  • Familiarity with local businesses or the Chicago landscape is a bonus

Nice to have:

at least 6 months of sales experience — telesales, cold calling, or any role where you’ve had to sell, persuade, and build rapport
