In this role, you will join a world-class business development team that is working to connect businesses’ equipment, processes and energy assets to our VPP. Reporting to our Head of Commercial, you will be responsible for creating, cultivating and closing new deals for our growth.

Job Responsibility:

  • Gaining a deep understanding of our service offering, the energy market and our technology platforms
  • Identifying, researching and making an effective initial contact with prospective customers
  • Developing and nurturing target market eco-systems that will build awareness and support of our services
  • With support from our engineering and consulting team, building business cases for prospective customers, including analysis of customer energy data, operational processes, equipment and system capabilities, procurement strategies and risk management policies
  • Expertly presenting these business cases and commercial proposals to prospective customers
  • Leveraging our sales frameworks to build support within the customer organisation for our proposal across executive management, energy management, operations, engineering, and procurement
  • Closing deals so as to meet or exceed clearly defined business development targets
  • Identifying ways to improve our competitive positioning by synthesising customer feedback and competitor intelligence and sharing it with our leadership team
  • Helping to shape our marketing roadmap by bringing ideas for new product content and digital marketing tactics that can accelerate customer engagement

Requirements:

  • B.Eng, B.A. or B.S. undergraduate degree required
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with a proven ability to present complex solutions
  • Proven experience meeting or beating business development targets in other organisations, especially where the solutions being sold challenged the customer’s status quo
  • Subject matter expertise in the National Electricity Market (NEM) and/or Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM), backup power systems, retail power supply, and/or B2B energy services
  • A passion for business development as a discipline, backed by an understanding of leading business development frameworks and methodologies for success
  • A highly professional self-starter with an innate drive to win
