Job Description:

At Shakers, we're on the lookout for a Business Developer for Portugal to take our European expansion to the next level. This role offers the opportunity to identify those companies in Portugal that can scale their business by reducing costs and boosting productivity—matching them with the best Tech Freelancers through our platform. You’ll be based in Madrid with occasional travel to Portugal for marketing events and client meetings.

Job Responsibility:

  • Build, manage and grow a portfolio of Portuguese clients, increasing conversion, retention, and repeat usage
  • Understand each company’s pain points and goals, and communicate our value proposition effectively
  • Build trust with decision-makers and technical teams to help them adopt and scale freelance talent solutions
  • Execute Account-Based strategies to uncover new opportunities within existing clients
  • Own and report your KPIs, client pipeline, account plans, and sales forecasts weekly and monthly
  • Collaborate closely with Talent and Ops to ensure the successful delivery of freelance teams to your accounts

Requirements:

  • 2–7 years of experience in business development, client management, tech sales, consulting or similar roles in the startup or tech ecosystem
  • Fluent in Portuguese (native or bilingual)
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Understand the Portuguese business culture and are comfortable engaging with both startups and large corporations
  • Strong "farming" and “hunting” skills to manage and expand a client portfolio
  • Results-oriented, ambitious and excited about building something from scratch
  • Tech-savvy and confident speaking with both C-level and technical profiles
  • Highly organized, analytical and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Hands-on attitude and love taking full ownership of your market and accounts
