Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Budget Analyst to join our team on a contract basis in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This role is ideal for an experienced financial expert with advanced Excel skills, who can support complex budgeting processes and contribute to organizational financial planning. Working within a non-profit environment, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial management and reporting during a dynamic period of growth.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and maintain detailed multi-tab Excel models to support various financial planning needs, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow tracking
  • Monitor and reconcile budget data across multiple departments, ensuring accuracy in income and expense classifications
  • Perform in-depth analysis of financial metrics to identify trends and discrepancies
  • Collaborate with leadership and department heads to address budget-related inquiries and provide accurate financial insights
  • Facilitate multiple iterations of budget updates throughout the annual planning cycle to ensure alignment with organizational goals
  • Support the organization’s system transition by maintaining robust Excel-based budgeting processes during the migration phase

Requirements:

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including expertise in formulas, pivot tables, macros, and data link protection
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and managing large, multi-sheet financial models
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail, capable of identifying and resolving discrepancies in financial data
  • Solid understanding of budgeting processes and cycles, with the ability to deliver results within tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with NetSuite or experience supporting financial system migrations
  • Experience in working with non-profit organizations or large, complex entities
