Job Responsibility:
Assists in performing onsite visual bridge inspections according to National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) or Specifications for the National Bridge Inventory (SNBI) State Bridge Inspection and associated Quality Control – Quality Assurance (QC/QA) requirements, FHWA inspection schedule, and Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) procedures
Assists with inspection report completion, including field observations, photographs, and measurements
Assists with preparation of bridge inspection submittal for appropriate county or municipality and ODOT, including reports, CDs, and maps
Attends and participates in annual ODOT and internal QC/QA training
Collaborates with team to coordinate workflow, file management, inspections, data entry and submittal schedules
Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
One to three years’ related experience and/or training preferred
English language skills: ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
ability to write routine reports and correspondence
ability to speak effectively to CEC team members and clients
Mathematical skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs
Reasoning skills: ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Proficient personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
ODOT BrM familiarity preferred
Organizational skills: ability to prioritize and organize tasks
ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Remote connectivity device (e.g., smart phone, tablet, etc.) with data plan sufficient for company requirements, including multi-factor authentication, time and mileage tracking, expense reimbursement, e-mail, and virtual communications
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, frequently over uneven surfaces
Ability to traverse uneven terrain, climb over or crawl under obstacles
Ability to occasionally sit in vehicle more than four hours
Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and using hands to finger, handle or feel
Ability to sit and manipulate computer mouse up to eight hours per day
Ability to see clearly 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more
