We are seeking a dedicated Blaster/Painter Working Leaderman with preferably at least 5 years of shipbuilding/repair experience or 3 years of continuous Company experience in a similar position. The candidate will direct their workforce in the successful implementation of craft-specific activities as it relates to associated shipbuilding and/or repair functions.
Job Responsibility:
Directs and coordinates related craft activities
Develops, reviews, and maintains schedules, budgets and other essential records
Provides specific task requirements, technical and hands-on guidance to subordinates
Responds to daily personnel, equipment and facility issues
develops viable solutions and remedial actions
Trains and motivates workforce to result in high levels of productivity
Optimizes efforts to produce a high-quality work product consistent with Company standards
Meets with other supervisors to coordinate craft efforts
Ensures material and labor resources necessary to accomplish tasks are readily available
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of shipbuilding/repair experience or 3 years of continuous Company experience in a similar position preferred
Possesses in-depth knowledge of craft-specific processes and techniques
Well-organized supervisor with directly applicable experience in resource planning and scheduling
Has good basic knowledge of shipbuilding/repair activities
Familiar with standard marine practice and general specifications for construction
Can perform labor estimates and planning manning schedules
Exhibits high energy levels and maintains a good attitude
Works well with other craft supervisors
Can read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and other technical guidance documentation
