The Bilingual Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors in a healthcare setting. This role requires excellent customer service, professionalism, and the ability to communicate fluently in both English and Spanish while supporting front-desk operations and EMR workflows.
Job Responsibility:
Greet and check in patients professionally in English and Spanish
Answer and route incoming calls
respond to general inquiries
Verify patient demographics, insurance, and consent forms
Schedule, confirm, and update appointments in Athena or other EMR systems
Collect copays and process basic payments as required
Maintain organized front-desk and waiting areas
Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA guidelines
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required
1+ year of receptionist or front-desk experience (healthcare preferred)
Bilingual: fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written)
Experience with Athena (Athena One) or other EMR/EHR systems preferred
Strong customer service, communication, and multitasking skills
