Job Description:

Model, optimize, and operate batteries across Europe to influence how hybrid solar + storage projects are structured, dispatched, and monetized. Shape the commercial strategy of the battery portfolio and impact the energy transition.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead modeling of expected and historical BESS revenues across markets and services
  • Assess revenue stacking opportunities to maximize returns and reduce portfolio risks
  • Support investment decisions with revenue modeling and commercial insights
  • Track and interpret market and regulatory developments impacting storage revenues
  • Collaborate internally across investment and operations to integrate batteries into Alight’s portfolio strategy
  • Manage relationships with BSPs/BRPs and oversee dispatch/operations as needed

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in the energy sector, with hands-on exposure to BESS, energy markets, or trading
  • Strong understanding of revenue stacking: arbitrage, ancillary services, frequency containment, solar load shifting
  • Proven ability to model and analyze grid-connected batteries in active power markets
  • Familiarity with BSP/BRP operations
  • Strong analytical and commercial mindset, connecting technical performance with financial outcomes
  • Solid knowledge of dispatch optimization, degradation, and risk management in merchant markets
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Clear communicator, collaborative team player, and proactive problem solver
