The BESS Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the overall health, condition and performance of the generating equipment associated with the Enel Green Power North America, Inc (EGPNA) fleet of Battery Energy Storage Systems. This position supports the Operations and Maintenance teams by analyzing field data and providing recommendations, troubleshooting, maintenance procedures and training of EGPNA personnel to maintain high availability of the equipment.
Job Responsibility:
Analyze and interpret technical data collected from the field to determine the health status of the BESS equipment (BESS inverters, batteries, cooling systems, etc.) and recommend updates to maintenance plans working with BESS Engineers and Maintenance Planners
Create and maintain condition-based maintenance and reliability based maintenance programs
Provide training to plant personnel on maintenance and troubleshooting procedures
Based on technical knowledge and interaction with equipment OEMs and integrators, create technical documentation, operating procedures, and troubleshooting support for the equipment associated with the company’s BESS project portfolio
Provide support to BESS Execution and Planning teams for the development of Maintenance Plans
Provide support to equipment spare maintenance and logistics
Propose and develop improvement plans to address systemic problems and improve overall performance of the BESS operating equipment (improvements and/or modifications)
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering Education, or relevant experience and 3+ years’ technical experience in large scale utility field maintenance
Knowledge of Low and Medium Voltage three phase power systems, AC and DC power systems, batteries, inverters, electrical conversion machines, instrumentation and digital control systems is required
Excellent computer skills with experience on the MS suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project preferred
A valid driver’s license operable in all 50 states and Canada
Ability to travel up to 25%
Nice to have:
Knowledge in battery maintenance, battery management systems, charge controllers and related systems is a plus
