Job Responsibility:
Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
provide a high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
maintain clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment including cleaning shelves, floors, and removing hazardous debris
stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining the rotation of bakery products and discarding outdated items
receive, inspect, and log bakery shipments for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
answer phones and take special orders
perform general housekeeping and ensure work area sanitation
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
1-2 years bakery experience or equivalent education and experience
ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
good communication skills
ability to operate bakery equipment and tools
physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift items up to 40 lbs
adherence to safety and health regulations
valid Food Handler's permit or willingness to obtain
friendly and positive attitude
reliable and dependable work ethic
Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
have 1-2 years bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule
exhibit outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
have good communication skills and ability to take direction
be able to answer phones and take special orders
possess the ability to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
have or be able to obtain a Food Handler's permit
be physically capable of standing for up to 8 hours and handling bakery trays and items of various weights
