Job Responsibility:

  • Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • provide a high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • maintain clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment including cleaning shelves, floors, and removing hazardous debris
  • stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining the rotation of bakery products and discarding outdated items
  • receive, inspect, and log bakery shipments for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
  • answer phones and take special orders
  • perform general housekeeping and ensure work area sanitation

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years bakery experience or equivalent education and experience
  • ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • good communication skills
  • ability to operate bakery equipment and tools
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift items up to 40 lbs
  • adherence to safety and health regulations
  • valid Food Handler's permit or willingness to obtain
  • friendly and positive attitude
  • reliable and dependable work ethic
  • Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • have 1-2 years bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule
  • exhibit outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
  • have good communication skills and ability to take direction
  • be able to answer phones and take special orders
  • possess the ability to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • have or be able to obtain a Food Handler's permit
  • be physically capable of standing for up to 8 hours and handling bakery trays and items of various weights
