The AVP Mgr–Data Analytics role is critical to advancing the Moody's Ratings Business Intelligence and Process Measurement strategy, and will be responsible for leading and managing a team of analysts, ensuring high-quality results, fostering collaboration, and driving performance to meet organizational goals. This position will leverage advanced analytics, various statistical analyses, and machine learning techniques to help senior leaders across the organization make informed, data-driven decisions that support and improve the end-to-end credit rating process.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and manage a team of analysts, providing clear direction, coaching, and performance feedback to enable individual and team success
  • Oversee planning, resource allocation, prioritization, roadmap management, and delivery, achieving timely completion of high-quality work within established deadlines
  • Monitor progress and quality of deliverables, driving adherence to deadlines and organizational standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs, translate them into analytical requirements, and present actionable recommendations to senior leadership, ensuring effective communication and coordination across cross-functional teams to support decision-making
  • Establish and maintain best practices for data analysis, reporting, and visualization, promoting consistency and accuracy across all outputs
  • Leverage various statistical analyses and machine learning techniques (e.g., data mining, regression, time-series analysis, decision trees) to generate insights and recommendations for stakeholders
  • Develop and implement predictive and prescriptive analytical models using business intelligence tools to discover historical patterns, forecast trends, and identify potential risks
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to execute analytical strategies that align with organizational goals, ensuring data-driven insights support business decisions
  • Establish and maintain data quality standards, implementing processes to guarantee compliance with data governance, data accuracy, reliability, and consistency while protecting sensitive data
  • Improve testing standards to drive data integrity, ensuring back-end data connections and workflows are efficient and stable while maintaining reliable front-end reports
  • Facilitate regular team meetings to review priorities, address challenges, and align on strategic goals
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in business intelligence, artificial intelligence, and data science to continually evolve analytical insights

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing a team of analysts, including setting objectives, driving performance, and fostering professional development to achieve organizational goals
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for strategic decision-making
  • Demonstrated ability in developing analytical models using business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Advanced proficiency in leveraging data visualization tools and analytics platforms to support business intelligence and operational improvements
  • Experience extracting and transforming data from multiple sources to support dashboard development
  • knowledge of Alteryx is preferred
  • Comprehensive understanding of programming languages like SQL, R, and/or Python, with experience leveraging various statistical analyses and machine learning techniques (e.g., data mining, regression, time-series analysis)
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with experience in business process analysis, root cause analysis, and strengthening operational controls
  • Expert-level organizational and time-management abilities, ensuring delivery of high-quality work within tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • knowledge of Jira is preferred
  • Exceptional leadership, project management, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate complex topics and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels
  • Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, or any other similar, quantitative field required with at least 5 + years of related work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a similar quantitative field with 7+ years of demonstrated related work experience
