Job Description:

Automotive Trainer - Apprenticeship Program (Field Based). You will play a key role in shaping the next generation of technicians while building a stable, rewarding career of your own. This is a field-based position with travel across the North of England, supported by a company car and hybrid working.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver engaging apprenticeship training using blended methods including classroom, remote and practical delivery
  • Plan and run structured training sessions that keep learners on track and motivated
  • Support apprentice wellbeing and safeguarding, stepping in early when support is needed
  • Manage individual learner progress, ensuring targets, reviews and documentation are completed accurately
  • Carry out gateway reviews and support end point assessments so learners achieve successful outcomes
  • Work closely with employers to maximise on-the-job training opportunities
  • Monitor performance against KPIs and take action where progress falls behind
  • Contribute to at-risk meetings and help put clear improvement plans in place
  • Support apprentice recruitment, inductions and onboarding
  • Maintain high standards of quality, compliance and record keeping
  • Support audits, inspections and regulatory requirements
  • Share knowledge and best practice with colleagues to continuously improve delivery
  • Promote technical excellence and the value of the company training solutions
  • Travel nationally to support learners, employer sites and events as required

Requirements:

  • Enjoy coaching, mentoring and supporting others
  • Experience in a relevant technical or vocational discipline
  • Hold, or are willing to work towards, assessor or training qualifications
  • Have Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Confident managing multiple learners and priorities
  • Communicate clearly and build trust quickly
  • Comfortable using digital systems to track progress and evidence
  • Proactive, organised and solution focused
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and are happy to travel

  • Serve as a technical resource and mentor for service technicians
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Service Operations, and Technical Publications teams to develop new training modules and update existing materials
  • Create and maintain training aids, lab vehicles, diagnostic tools, and participant manuals
  • Maintain expert level knowledge of Harbinger vehicles systems, technologies and repair systems
  • Develop and administer practical and written exams to evaluate technician competency
  • Manage and track dealer technician certification progress within the company's Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Act as a technical resource, providing ad-hoc support and coaching to dealer service management and technicians
