Our manufacturing sites are fast paced, ever-demanding and complex. Therefore it's vital we have a strong Engineering team who are able to keep up to the demands of the site. It's ultimately our responsibility to minimise machinery downtime whilst identifying ways to improve performance without impacting on the quality of our produce and Engineer engagement. We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join our team, your role will involve developing, implementing, and maintaining automation systems and processes at our large, fast paced manufacturing sites.
Job Responsibility:
Design and develop automation solutions: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and implement automation systems
System integration and troubleshooting: Integrate automation systems with existing equipment and processes. Resolve technical issues promptly
Business Continuity with respect to Automated Systems: Proactively implement sustainable ways of working, asset improvements and resilience
Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimisation and automation enhancements
Programming and configuration: Develop and maintain PLC programs, HMI interfaces, and other automation software
Safety and compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
Automation & Electrical Obsolescence & Future-Proofing: Work with external supplier partners to develop a repeatable process to identify, track and manage areas of risk
Documentation and training: Create and maintain technical documentation, operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Train operators and maintenance personnel
Requirements:
Strong background in Engineering
In-depth knowledge of robotics, motion control, and vision systems
Proven track record in an engineering and fault finding role gained from a FMCG environment ideally
Good understanding of HACCP principles
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and principles
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex automation systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality results
Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus
Nice to have:
IEE qualification up to 17th edition wiring regulations would be advantageous
