This is an exciting opportunity to join the GIA UK Team, which is a core part of GIA. The GIA UK Team is comprised of audit professionals, and works closely with the Risk Specialists in the Group team to deliver audits for Bank of Ireland UK business (BoI UK). The Audit Manager will have the opportunity to work across all parts of the UK business and all risks, which will allow them to broaden their experience, or indeed to focus in a core area or risk. This is a hybrid role with the primary office location as Bristol or Belfast.
Job Responsibility:
Support the scoping and planning audit engagements to meet the objectives as outlined in the UK Board Audit Committee approved audit plan
Evaluate internal controls and processes through the planning, execution and reporting of audit engagements
Perform audit engagements to a high standard in line with GIA methodology and ensure they are delivered in line with budget and reporting timeframes
Keep leadership advised of the status of audit engagements, ensuring any delays or changes are highlighted and managed
Manager partner engagement with auditees throughout the audit and responsibility for the ongoing liaison with Management via Continuous Monitoring for attending management meetings and relevant Committees based on responsibilities agreed
Team Representative for certain areas of the UK business, responsible for leading on audit risk assessments in those areas
Requirements:
Qualified or working towards a relevant Internal Auditor qualification (Certified Internal Auditor - CIA, or Certified Information System Auditor - CISA) or Accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA)
Current internal audit experience
A highly impactful skilled communicator in both written and verbal formats
Critical thinker, the ability to think objectively, analysing and evaluating an issue to form a well-rounded judgement
Strong attention to detail and a shown ability to deliver high quality work within ambitious timeframes
A self-motivated, passionate and energetic individual that works with intent
Ability to operate in a multifaceted team-based agile environment, and respond to ad-hoc requests, while meeting deadlines
