Audit & Risk Recruitment are working with a long-established and values-driven Top 20 accountancy firm with national reach and a strong international network. With a London office near Tower Bridge, this team is growing and looking for an Audit Assistant Manager to take on a key role in delivering high-quality audit engagements while mentoring junior staff and building strong client relationships. Job Responsibility:

  • Acting as the key day-to-day contact during audits, supporting the team onsite and managing communication with clients
  • Leading audit fieldwork across a varied client base, from planning through to completion
  • Assessing systems and controls, identifying risks, and tailoring audit approaches accordingly
  • Reviewing junior team members’ work, providing feedback and coaching in real time
  • Preparing and reviewing draft financial statements and disclosures
  • Managing workflow, raising issues proactively, and ensuring delivery meets deadlines and standards
  • Handling audit adjustments and client queries confidently
  • Supporting the wider team by contributing to training, compliance, and knowledge-sharing

Requirements:

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent
  • Experience managing audit engagements from start to finish, ideally in a UK practice
  • Confident working with clients and comfortable discussing technical matters clearly and professionally
  • Skilled at reviewing junior work and mentoring less experienced colleagues
  • Organised, deadline-driven, and proactive in managing audit workstreams
  • Familiar with software like Excel, CCH, Caseware, or Audit Automation (bonus, not essential)
  • Someone who values collaboration, integrity, and contributing to a positive team culture
