Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Attorney with a background in defense civil litigation to join a law firm in Birmingham, Alabama. The ideal candidate will have experience handling defense cases, including medical malpractice, product liability, and insurance defense. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed attorney with strong litigation skills to contribute to a dynamic legal practice.

Job Responsibility:

Conduct thorough legal research to support defense strategies in medical malpractice, product liability, and insurance cases
Prepare and draft legal motions, pleadings, and briefs with precision and attention to detail
Manage all aspects of discovery, including document review, interrogatories, and depositions
Represent clients in depositions, mediations, and court proceedings as needed
Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop effective case strategies
Prepare for and participate in trial proceedings, ensuring comprehensive case preparation
Analyze and interpret complex legal documents and case law to provide sound legal advice
Maintain compliance with all applicable legal standards and ethical requirements

Requirements:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in the state of Alabama
2-5 years of experience in civil litigation, including in defense cases
Proficiency in drafting motions, briefs, and other legal documents
Extensive experience with discovery processes and deposition procedures
Strong knowledge of medical malpractice, product liability, and insurance defense laws
Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively
