David Zwirner Gallery is seeking a dynamic Director/Associate Director to join our global marketing department. This pivotal role, based in Paris, reports jointly to the DZP Managing Director and New York-based Events Director, and is responsible for the successful execution of all private events for David Zwirner Paris and Europe, and select London programs. Instrumental in developing client cultivation and programming– including events, gifting, and other high-touch outreach and engagement initiatives– this role presents an exciting opportunity for a passionate marketing professional to make a meaningful impact within an artist-first institution.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and coordinate all logistics for Paris and Europe including exhibition openings, art fairs, institutional shows, and development events
Ensure the event programming and approach is aligned with marketing, branding, and sales objectives
Lead on the list, strategy, and venue management of select London events that serve as global cultivation moments
Collaborate with the Client Development team on guest lists, invites, and RSVPs
Partner with the Global Events team to align private events with gallery standards and best practices
Scout and secure venues, manage vendors, and negotiate budgets

Serve as the primary liaison for vendors, ensuring smooth communication and execution on the day of events
Manage internal communications and outreach for Paris’ private events
Oversee on-site logistics, guest experience, and ensure successful event execution
Serve as primary partner and liaison for external partners on cohosted events, including galleries, institutions, and more
Work with the DZP Directors and New York-based Events Director on budgeting, approvals, and logistical coordination
Manage the DZP Front Desk Assistant for list outreach, RSVP management, and other key event support
Develop and monitor KPIs for private event programming, including attendance, budget, retention, and acquisition
Organize post-mortem evaluations, providing event reporting and analysis, gathering feedback across teams to document insights and share learnings
Oversee and manage high-touch outreach efforts (gifting, mailing, etc) to select EU client segments, in collaboration with Paris and NY-based teams
Develop and execute DZP/EU-focused cultivation programming to support DZP exhibitions and client development goals
Secure development partnerships with reputable partners, ranging from luxury houses and affinity groups, in Paris and Europe
Develop strategies to enhance client acquisition and retention, collaborating with client development teams to optimize opportunities across Paris and Europe
Oversee management of DZP public events, including exhibitions, artist talks, book signings, and press previews, with support of DZP team and Marketing Communications Coordinator
Manage the DZP events calendar, collaborating with team members to promote and support events
Act as or manage the project lead for all public events
Serve as the primary liaison for vendors, ensuring smooth communication and execution on the day of events
Develop and communicate timelines and strategies for each event to stakeholders
Manage and curate guest lists for public events, managing outreach, and RSVP processes with support from the DZLA Front Desk
Requirements:
8+ years of relevant experience in events, marketing, development, or press relations within a comparable organization and industry
Understanding of the global art market, collector culture, and luxury client expectations
Exceptional communication skills and extraordinary attention to detail
Ability to work independently, managing time and meeting tight deadlines
A collaborative mindset and solutions-oriented approach
Fluency in French and English required

Event management tools, CRM systems (like Salesforce, Tessitura, or Artlogic), and Microsoft Office or Google Suite
