The Associate Director of Career and Technical Education is responsible for all phases of the instructional programs offered by the Career and Technical Education Division. The Associate Director's responsibilities and collaboration include planning, general program management, personnel management, community/school relations, fiscal management, and facilities management of Career and Technical Programs. This will also include other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent for Instructional Programs and Services.
Job Responsibility:
Responsible for all phases of the instructional programs offered by the Career and Technical Education Division
Planning, general program management, personnel management, community/school relations, fiscal management, and facilities management of Career and Technical Programs
Assist with the preparations of annual and long-range planning documents
Assist with the coordination of the development of general/specific program plans
Planning with staff and advisory groups
Implements organizational policies/regulations
Maintains continuing knowledge in program areas relative to area of responsibility
Provides leadership in establishing new or improved programs
Assists in the evaluations of existing programs
recommends changes/additions
Assists in the coordination of program reorganization/development
Coordinates appropriate reporting of pupil data
Recommending candidates for all division positions
Establishes qualifications/duties for all division personnel
Recommends termination of division personnel
Administers division observation/evaluation program
Coordinates division communication system
Cooperates with public and private agencies, organizations, professional personnel and lay members in securing and providing instructional services to local school district students
Serves as a community resource concerning division programs
Assists with preparation and recommendations of program budgets
Monitors and makes adjustments to approved budgets in collaboration with the Assistant Superintendent
Prepares appropriate reporting data
Administers the maintenance and repair of the Centers (and other facilities as requested) through the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds
Maintains a clear and safe environment for instruction through the Center principals
Cooperates with Director of Administrative Services regarding facilities rental agreements
Requirements:
NYS School District Leader (SDL) certification required
Successful administrative and instructional experience at district level preferred
Proven record of building collaborative relationships across departments, districts, and external partners
Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
