Job Description:

Assistant Quantity Surveyor role in social housing sector, managing commercial aspects of contracts, ensuring value for money while maintaining high standards for residents.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist in the preparation of tenders, estimations, and final accounts
  • Apply and manage the NHF Schedule of Rates for reactive maintenance and planned works
  • Manage payments, variations, and performance reviews for our supply chain
  • Conduct regular on-site measurements and valuations across our Slough-based portfolio
  • Help produce monthly CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations) to keep projects on budget

Requirements:

  • Proven background in Social Housing (Planned or Reactive Maintenance)
  • Strong working knowledge of the National Housing Federation (NHF) versions and frameworks
  • A degree or HND in Quantity Surveying (or currently working towards one)
  • Based in or within easy commuting distance of Slough
  • A sharp eye for detail, a proactive attitude, and the ability to explain complex costs to non-technical stakeholders
