As an Assistant Estimator Intern, you will work closely with our estimating team, assisting in the preparation of cost estimates and proposals for various construction projects. This internship is an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world setting while developing valuable skills in the construction industry.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist in reviewing project plans, specifications, and other relevant documentation
  • Conduct takeoffs from drawings to estimate material quantities and costs
  • Support senior estimators in gathering and analyzing pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
  • Help prepare bid proposals and documentation for submission
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions
  • Maintain organized records of estimates and bid submissions
  • Research materials, labor costs, and industry standards to inform estimates
  • Shadow estimators to learn about best practices in the estimating process
  • Assist with any other tasks as assigned by the estimating team

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a similar construction program
  • A GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Strong interest in the construction industry and estimating processes
  • Basic knowledge of construction terminology and practices is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • familiarity with estimating software is a plus
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Eager to learn and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
